Residential autonomous transportation
Babcock Ranch is a brand new 17,000 acre tech-centered community in South Florida. This community has plans to become the first solar powered city in the United States. The community has a convenient app with many features. I had the awesome experience of elevating a working autonomous vehicle prototype in a usable customer experience.
High-Level User Needs
- Small-scale transportation less than ~5mi
- Ability to find the nearest available vehicle
- How much will this cost me?
- Usability and safety concerns for ages young and old
Solutions
- A central community app with remote transportation access
- Interactive map with charging stations, or ability to summon a vehicle
- Community wide payment system with subscriptions
- Chatbot conversational interface and live support in case of urgent safety emergencies or technical difficulties
Onboarding
Onboarding consisted of registering a bit of information, and taking a tour of what the community assistant was capable of. We also had fun working on the branding for this app!
Community Dashboard & Profile
This app had a lof of settings and UX to think about with their many services. It’s important to think all the way through offline states, deleting an account, viewing purchase history, etc.
Ride Hailing
The ride hailing was the majority of what I worked on, and this experience was so much fun to think through.
Real Time Support app & Support Backend
It was a new experience working on a chatbot support app. We created a ticket system, as well as a desktop interface for a full time support agent to further assist where the bot could not.
